For the second year, running the Highfields Festival is will be taking place on Saturday 30th June between 10am and 8pm.

Highfields Centre has taken the lead in pulling together a number of different partners across the area to put on this major Festival. Come along and join this year's Festival on 30th June at the Highfields Centre which promises to be bigger and better and it will also incorporate Uplands Junior School’s Fete. The Festival will be formally opened by the City Mayor who will also be running a 'Meet the Mayor session'. The MP for Leicester South Jon Ashworth will also be present as well as local councillors and the Lord Mayor.

The event is free and will be starting at 10.00am in the front car park of the centre and the playground of Uplands Junior School, as well as the Centre itself The Festival Planning Group have worked hard over the last 6 months to put the event together and we are pleased to announce that this year, there will be a main stage in the front car park with local musicians and artists. There will also be a children's activities zone, a Jobs and Training Fair being organised by the Highfields Multi-Access Centre (HMAC), information stalls and sports (including outdoor Zumba) and arts activities zones. Catering will be provided in partnership with Mirch Masala.

On the main stage, there will be live music, comedy, poetry and competitions and giveaways. There will be live performances from Mani Hype, Tanni, Culture Project, Model Workers, CounterAction and many more. Mango Rooms (our community based recording studio) will present a showcase featuring artists such as Dipti & Bossman. EAVA FM will present two special shows live on stage, featuring the cream of local and Leicester talent. Sections of the event will be broadcast live on EAVA as well. The Festival finale will be between 5 and 8pm in the main hall with a spectacular show of music, fashion and spoken word.
