Friday Flex goes to Emperorfari, Maasai Warrior and Lion Youth in session at The Music Cafe.

We arrived at the venue a little after 23:00 and the place was filling up nicely.

Date: 7th September 2013, Venue: The Music Cafe, Leicester.

We were greeted by the massive stacks of Emperorfari and Maasai warrior which had been erected on opposite sides of the Music Cafe.

Lion Youth were playing their set off the Emperorfari stack. Being a lover an intense bass, it was nice to be greeted with that low frequency rumble which shook the entire body and the entire venue.

Up next was Emperorfari who also warmed up the session nicely. As time went on, the venue filled out up to the point where the dance floor was packed.

If you have heard a few sound systems in the past, you will realise that each stack has its own unique identity. I was standing outside when the sound inside the venue changed - Maasai Warrior was in session. With Young Maasai on the controls and Maasai senior entertaining the crowd, they whipped the crowd up into frenzy.

As the night went on it was great to hear all three sounds reach for their own bag of Dubplates which the crowd loved. Coming straight from Battle Arena across town, both Veej and I were hyped up.

Spending time in the Music Cafe at a Roots session made us both feel calm. Once again, I would encourage anybody to attend one of these events. In my opinion, it was probably one of the best nights you will have in Leicester.

The entire night was excellent, the music, the crowd and the vibes. It was good seeing all the Emperorfari, Maasai Warrior and Lion Youth crew. In the spirit of unity, the crowd were treated to hearing a sound system from Leicester, Bristol and Geneva Switzerland.

After a very long intense day, we made an exit a little earlier than usual. As we left, the crowd were going strong and the sound systems were booming.

We would like to thank Emperorfari, Maasai Warrior and Lion Youth and Music Cafe for the fantastic entertainment for the evening. See you at the next one....
